Recycling Reminder
Wisconsin's electronics recycling law, E-Cycle Wisconsin, bans certain electronics from landfills after Sept. 1, 2010 including cell phones, TV's, computers, printers and virtually every other electronic item.  Visit http://dnr.wi.gov/org/aw/wm/ecycle/ to learn more.    Waste Management will NOT take any consumer electronics left on the curb for pickup.
Village Rental Property
The village has some office space, a gym and other property at the Taylor Complex. We would like to find occupants for these properties.  If you or anyone you know is looking for space to rent, or if you need more information please call Audrey Viau at 554-9239

Be Wary
Over the last couple of months several cars in the village and in surrounding neighborhoods have been entered.  Items were stolen in most of the incidents and most of the time the cars were unlocked.  Some were in driveways and some parked on the street.  One was in an open garage. This week we have a report from our neighbors in Spring Lake that a house was entered and ransacked.  The thieves came in through the basement windows.  Please be aware of your surroundings, lock your car and house and notify the sheriff’s office if you experience any break ins or attempted break ins.  In addition be careful of what you put out for trash and recycle pickup.  A large TV box on the curb tells everyone driving by you have new TV.  Electronics are a huge draw for thieves.

Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy.
Crime Stoppers provides several sources for providing an anonymous tip by telephone (888-636-9330), Web site; Crime Stoppers of Racine County, www.racine.crimestoppersweb.com or Text Messaging: RACS + message to CRIMES (274637) to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime.
Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender.
Crime Stoppers relies on volunteer Directors and tax-deductible contributions from the public in order to operate the administration of the program.

Yard Waste Dates
We have already had a couple of emails about Yard Waste pickup for 2012.  I read them while looking at the snow this morning!  You are way too anxious.   I will post the dates on the web page and email them out as soon as we get them.

Web Page
Important dates and the current newsletter are posted on the webpage.  If you need info quickly, check the web page.  So check:
www.elmwoodparkwi.com   for current village information.

Paper Newsletters

As always please share this newsletter with your neighbors that do not receive it electronically.  Paper copies will be available on December 17 at the village hall.  They are in a box on a post outside the hall.  Someone stole the box at Beebe School.  I will replace that this weekend and have newsletters in there by Monday.
