Flu Shots
The village contracts with the city of Racine for Health Services. H1N1 shots are still available for village residents at no charge. If you are interested in getting a shot call the city of Racine Health Dept at 636-9431 for information or an appointment. Clinics are held on Tuesdays 4-6 PM and Wednesdays 1:15 -4PM at city hall, 730 Washington Ave
Medical Waste
The Spring Medical Waste drop off will be held April 17, 2010. The address is 6200 21st St. Just northeast of the old Sam’s Club.
Yard Waste
Pick up dates for 2010 yard waste are:
April 5 June 1 July 26 Sept. 20
April 19 June 14 Aug. 9 Oct. 4
May 3 June 28 Aug. 23 Oct. 18
May 17 July 12 Sept. 7 Nov. 8
The board is reviewing the cost of yard waste bags. This fee may increase this year.
Spring Clean Up Day
The annual bulk pick up/ spring clean up day is Friday June 4th. This year Waste Management will not accept yard waste on this day
Radon Kits
Radon kits are available for purchase at the Racine Environmental Health Office. Room 1 at City Hall. Kits are $5.00
50 Years of Elmwood Park
We are working on plans for a village picnic on June 13. Plans are in the works for food, music and games to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the village.
Taylor Complex Vandalism
The Taylor complex was the victim of landscape vandalism. Someone drove a vehicle around the property leaving deep ruts and causing significant and expensive landscape damage. If you have any knowledge of this please contact the village hall.
GO VOTE
Election Day is April 6th. Voting will take place at the village hall.
From the Village Assessor
Ray Anderson has scheduled the Open Book Meeting for April 26 from 6-8 PM. The board of Review Meeting will be May 13 from 6-8 PM.
Taylor Ave Project
President Viau will keep us updated on this road project as she receives the latest information. The project goes out for bid on April 27, 2010. She also reports that we were able to get additional funding for the project.
Census
It is extremely important that everyone in the villages gets counted. We are one of the smaller municipalities and many programs for government funding are based on population or mileage. Let’s make sure we get our share. Please fill out your form and mail it today.
