Welcome!
Welcome to the web site for the Village of Elmwood Park, Wisconsin. Elmwood Park incorporated as a village on June 27, 1960 following a court battle. Until this time Elmwood had been part of the Town of Mount Pleasant. Becoming a village was not an easy task; it was met with some opposition. A new state law adopted after the incorporation proceedings had started required villages near cities the size of Racine to be 25 times larger than Elmwood. Elmwood Park is the last small village in the state to incorporate. Elmwood Park became the new name of the village as there was already a village of Elmwood in northwest Wisconsin. Click on Village History for more information on the history of the village.
The village web page is a source for information on the village, board of trustees, village ordinances, planning commission regulations and building regulations. This site is continually updating and growing. Stop back often for news and updates.

Smart Growth Meetings
In 2006 the state mandated that each municipality have a 25 year plan by 2010 for their community. The 18 municipalities of Racine County along with the Southeastern WI Regional Plan Commission, Plan and Development of Racine County, and UW-Extension have been meeting since July of 2006 to develop a county wide plan. This saved us money and we were able to obtain grant monies for the project. We will be holding Informational Meetings for the public. You are all invited to come see what Racine County will look like in the year 2035.
